My apologies that this post is late to be added to our website.
It was great to see many of our neighbours at the park at the end of August for a celebration of community! We had a lovely day as both the rain and the mosquitoes held off!
It was lovely to share stories and fun facts as our young neighbours as well as the young at heart got to know each other through a community bingo. The kids enjoyed glitter tattoos, rock painting and getting to know other children in the community. It was also great that a representative from the City of Edmonton’s Fire Smart Program came to share information to support our community in becoming fire resilient. City councillor Jon Morgan joined us as well and took some time to get to know about our community. It was a great opportunity to connect for learning, fun, food and friendship!
This celebration would not have been possible without the support of our volunteers. Thanks so very much to Chris, Rob, Brad, Christine, Tamara, Bridgette and Loane for giving back to our community with your time! Thanks also to our junior volunteers, Rachel and Eden for providing glitter tattoos to our young neighbours!
A huge thank you to Micia and Joan who organized this event and worked tirelessly to plan and coordinate, arrange rentals, donations and facilitate the event. Thank you also to all of our board members for their time and support (and their spouses who may have been volluntold!)
Finally, many thanks to our BBQ sponsors:
